Authorship and Contributorship Policy

ClinMed Nexus: Journal of Clinical and Medical Research (CMN-CMR) adheres to the highest ethical standards for authorship and contributorship. Authorship implies a significant intellectual contribution to the research, accountability for its integrity, and approval of the final version of the manuscript.

1. Authorship Criteria

  • Substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work; or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data.
  • Drafting the work or revising it critically for important intellectual content.
  • Final approval of the version to be published.
  • Accountability for all aspects of the work, ensuring accuracy and integrity.

Anyone who does not meet all four criteria should be listed in the Acknowledgments section.

2. Contributorship and Acknowledgment

Contributors who have assisted in the research (e.g., data collection, editing, administrative support, technical help) but do not meet the authorship criteria should be properly acknowledged in the manuscript with their explicit consent. All contributors’ roles should be clearly specified in the “Author Contributions” section of the manuscript.

3. Corresponding Author Responsibilities

  • Communicating with the journal during submission, peer review, and publication.
  • Ensuring all authors have reviewed and approved the final manuscript.
  • Confirming that all listed authors meet the authorship criteria.

4. Changes in Authorship

Any changes to the authorship list (addition, deletion, or rearrangement of author names) must be approved in writing by all authors, including those being added or removed. The request must be justified and approved by the Editor-in-Chief before publication.

5. Disputes in Authorship

In cases of authorship disputes, CMN-CMR follows the guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and may seek the involvement of the authors’ affiliated institutions for resolution.

6. Guest, Gift, and Ghost Authorship

CMN-CMR strictly prohibits:

  • Guest authorship: Listing individuals who made no significant contribution.
  • Gift authorship: Offering authorship as a favor or honor.
  • Ghost authorship: Omission of individuals who made significant contributions.

Violations may result in rejection, retraction, and notification to relevant institutions.
