Plagiarism Policy

1. Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism is the act of copying, reproducing, or using someone else’s work, ideas, or findings without proper acknowledgment. This includes:

  • Direct copying of text, figures, tables, or images without citation.
  • Paraphrasing without proper attribution.
  • Self-plagiarism (reusing one’s own previously published work without citation).
  • Fabrication or falsification of data, references, or sources.

2. Plagiarism Detection and Screening

ClinMed Nexus follows strict anti-plagiarism guidelines to maintain the integrity of published research. All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection tools (such as Turnitin, iThenticate, or Similarity Check) before being sent for peer review.

The journal classifies plagiarism based on similarity percentages:

  • <10% Similarity – Considered acceptable with minor revisions.
  • 10–30% Similarity – Requires substantial modifications and proper citation before reconsideration.
  • >30% Similarity – Considered a serious violation; the manuscript is rejected immediately.

3. Consequences of Plagiarism

If plagiarism is detected at any stage (before or after publication), the following actions will be taken:

  • Before publication: The manuscript is returned to the author for correction or outright rejection.
  • After publication: The article may be retracted, and a notice of retraction will be issued.
  • Serious violations: The author’s institution may be notified, and the author may be banned from future submissions.

4. Ethical Responsibilities of Authors

Authors must:

  • ✅ Submit original and previously unpublished work.
  • ✅ Properly cite all sources, including their own previous publications.
  • ✅ Obtain permissions for any third-party materials (figures, images, etc.).
  • ✅ Disclose if any part of the manuscript has been published elsewhere.

By submitting a manuscript to ClinMed Nexus, authors confirm that their work is free from plagiarism and adheres to ethical research standards.

For any concerns or suspected plagiarism, please contact our editorial office at editor@clinmednexus.com.
