Preprints Policy
ClinMed Nexus: Journal of Clinical and Medical Research (CMN-CMR) supports responsible sharing of scientific research and allows the submission of manuscripts that have been previously posted as preprints.
A preprint is a version of a scholarly paper that precedes formal peer review and publication in a journal. Authors are encouraged to disclose any prior preprint posting during submission.
Key Guidelines
- Allowed Preprint Servers: Manuscripts previously shared on recognized preprint platforms (e.g., medRxiv, bioRxiv, Research Square, SSRN) are eligible for submission to CMN-CMR.
- Disclosure Requirement: Authors must clearly indicate during submission that the manuscript has been deposited as a preprint and provide a link to the preprint version.
- Content Consistency: The content submitted to CMN-CMR must closely match the version posted as a preprint. Major changes in conclusions or data should be explained in a cover letter.
- Peer Review: Preprints submitted to CMN-CMR will undergo the full peer-review process as all other original submissions. Preprint status does not influence the editorial decision.
- Citation of Preprints: If citing a preprint in a manuscript, authors must identify it clearly as a preprint and ensure it has not been published in a peer-reviewed journal at the time of submission.
- Post-Publication: Once published in CMN-CMR, authors are encouraged to link the final published version to the preprint server to maintain transparency and citation accuracy.
Important Note
CMN-CMR does not consider manuscripts that have been peer-reviewed and published elsewhere, but prior non-peer-reviewed preprints are permitted and encouraged in the spirit of open science.
