Publishing Policies
1. Open Access and Licensing Policy
The ClinMed Nexus: Journal of Clinical and Medical Research (JCMR) is a fully open-access journal, ensuring that all published content is immediately and permanently available to the public without subscription or paywall barriers.
Readers may access, download, copy, distribute, print, and reuse the content for lawful purposes without prior permission, provided proper attribution to the original work and the journal is given.
All articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) license, which allows unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, as long as the original authors and source are properly cited.
2. Peer Review Policy
JCMR maintains the highest standards of peer review to ensure the publication of high-quality, evidence-based medical and clinical research.
- All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review (both authors and reviewers remain anonymous).
- Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent experts in the relevant field.
- The review process evaluates originality, scientific validity, clinical relevance, methodology, and ethical compliance.
- The editorial decision (acceptance, revision, or rejection) is based on the reviewers’ recommendations, compliance with journal scope, and the Editor-in-Chief’s final assessment.
- Average review time: 3–5 weeks.
3. Ethical Guidelines & Responsibilities
JCMR strictly follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), ICMJE, and WAME guidelines.
Author Responsibilities:
- Submissions must be original and not under review elsewhere.
- Authors must declare any conflicts of interest, funding sources, or affiliations that might influence results.
- Clinical studies must comply with ethical standards, such as obtaining IRB approval and informed consent from participants.
Reviewer Responsibilities:
- Provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all manuscripts under review.
Editorial Responsibilities:
- Ensure a fair, transparent, and unbiased editorial process.
- Prevent and act on any publication misconduct, including plagiarism or data fabrication.
4. Plagiarism and Research Misconduct Policy
JCMR has a zero-tolerance policy towards plagiarism and unethical research practices. All manuscripts are screened using advanced plagiarism detection tools (e.g., iThenticate) before peer review.
- A similarity index above 15% (excluding references) may result in immediate rejection or return for revision.
- Any evidence of fabricated, falsified, or manipulated data will lead to rejection, author blacklisting, or article retraction.
5. Authorship Policy
- Only individuals who made substantial contributions (conceptualization, design, data acquisition, analysis, or drafting) should be listed as authors.
- The corresponding author must ensure that all co-authors approve the final manuscript.
- Changes to authorship after submission require written consent from all authors and editorial approval.
6. Conflict of Interest Disclosure
To maintain transparency, all authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial, professional, or personal conflicts of interest that could influence their contributions.
7. Data Sharing & Research Transparency
JCMR encourages open science practices and sharing of data:
- Authors should deposit data in recognized repositories (e.g., Dryad, Figshare).
- Clinical trial data and supplementary files should be accessible for verification and further research.
8. Retraction, Correction, and Withdrawal Policy
- Articles may be retracted for plagiarism, unethical practices, or major errors compromising integrity.
- Minor corrections are published as Errata or Corrigenda linked to the original article.
- Withdrawal requests are allowed before final publication with valid reasons.
9. Copyright Policy
Authors retain full copyright but grant JCMR the right to publish and disseminate the article. All content is under CC BY 4.0 license.
10. Digital Preservation and Archiving Policy
Articles are archived in LOCKSS and CLOCKSS systems and institutional repositories to ensure long-term availability.
11. Advertising & Sponsorship Policy
JCMR does not allow advertisements or sponsored content that may compromise editorial independence.
12. Clinical Trial Policy
- All clinical trials must be registered in a public registry (e.g., ClinicalTrials.gov).
- Trial registration numbers must appear in the abstract.
- Reports should follow CONSORT guidelines.
