Conflicts of Interest
ClinMed Nexus: Journal of Multidisciplinary Sciences
This policy describes the principles and procedures applicable to conflicts of interest at ClinMed Nexus: Journal of Multidisciplinary Sciences.
1. Why Disclosure Matters
Financial and non-financial relationships can influence, or appear to influence, research design, interpretation, review, and publication.
2. Author Disclosures
Authors must disclose relevant funding, employment, consulting, equity, patents, honoraria, paid expert testimony, personal relationships, and other interests as applicable.
3. Funding and Sponsor Roles
Funding sources and sponsor involvement in study design, data collection, analysis, writing, and publication decisions should be stated.
4. Reviewer Disclosures
Invited reviewers must identify relevant competing interests and decline assignments where impartial review cannot be maintained.
5. Editor Disclosures
Editors with relevant conflicts must not oversee decisions on the affected manuscript; an independent editor should be assigned.
6. How to Declare
Include a clear competing interests statement, even when there are no relevant interests to declare. Example: “The authors declare no competing interests.”
7. Changes During Review
Newly arising conflicts should be reported promptly to the editorial office.
8. Failure to Disclose
Omissions may require clarification, correction of the published record, or further investigation depending on their significance.
