Overview of the Publication Process

ClinMed Nexus: Journal of Multidisciplinary Sciences supports a structured editorial and publication process intended to promote research quality, transparency, academic integrity, and responsible scholarly communication.

Manuscripts are assessed according to their relevance, originality, methodological quality, ethical compliance, and scholarly contribution. The publication process includes administrative verification, editorial assessment, peer review where appropriate, author revisions, final decisions, and production.

The stages described below outline the journal's intended standard workflow. Additional steps may be required depending on manuscript type, research discipline, ethical concerns, or production requirements.

Publication Journey at a Glance

Manuscript Submission → Initial Screening → Editorial Assessment → Peer Review → Revision → Editorial Decision → APC & Publication Arrangements → Production → Author Proofing → Online Publication

Stage 1. Manuscript Submission

Authors submit their manuscripts through the journal's online Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. The submission should include the manuscript file, article title, abstract, keywords, author details, and supporting materials where applicable.

Author action: Complete the submission checklist, upload the required files, and confirm that all co-authors approve the submission.

Stage 2. Administrative and Technical Screening

The editorial office checks the completeness of the submission, manuscript formatting, required declarations, author metadata, figures, tables, and supplementary files.

Authors may be asked to correct technical deficiencies before the manuscript proceeds.

Possible outcome: Submission accepted for editorial assessment or returned for missing information.

Stage 3. Initial Editorial Assessment

The handling editor evaluates the manuscript's suitability for the journal, research contribution, presentation quality, originality, and ethical compliance.

Manuscripts that fall outside the journal's scope or do not meet essential scholarly requirements may be declined without external peer review.

Possible outcome: Proceed to peer review, request clarification, or decline the manuscript.

Stage 4. Reviewer Selection and Invitation

Manuscripts selected for peer review are assigned to reviewers with relevant subject expertise. The editor considers reviewer independence, academic qualifications, availability, and possible conflicts of interest.

Editorial action: Invite appropriate reviewers and coordinate independent assessment.

Stage 5. Peer Review and Scientific Evaluation

Reviewers examine the manuscript's originality, research design, methods, evidence, analysis, interpretation, reporting clarity, and scholarly significance.

Reviewers provide comments and recommendations intended to assist the editor in evaluating the manuscript and, where appropriate, help authors strengthen their work.

Possible outcome: Recommendation for acceptance, revision, or rejection. The final decision rests with the editor.

Stage 6. Editorial Decision and Revision

The editor considers reviewer reports and determines the appropriate next step. Authors may receive a request for minor or major revisions.

Revised submissions should include an updated manuscript and a point-by-point response to reviewer and editor comments. Additional peer-review rounds may be necessary.

Author action: Address comments carefully, explain any recommendations not adopted, and submit revised files through the journal system.

Stage 7. Final Editorial Decision

Following review and any required revisions, the responsible editor makes the final editorial decision based on the manuscript's scholarly merit, methodological soundness, ethical compliance, and publication suitability.

Acceptance is not guaranteed by manuscript submission, participation in peer review, or payment of publication charges.

Possible outcome: Acceptance, further revision, or rejection.

Stage 8. Article Processing Charges and Publication Arrangements

Following formal acceptance, the editorial or publishing office communicates applicable publication arrangements, including the Article Processing Charge (APC), any approved discount or waiver, and payment instructions.

Article Category APC
Research Articles and Review Articles USD 2,999
Case Reports and Case Studies USD 1,899

Important: Financial arrangements must not influence editorial decisions. Authors should review all applicable charges and payment terms before making payment.

Stage 9. Copyediting and Manuscript Production

Accepted manuscripts proceed to production, which may include language editing, reference verification, formatting, figure placement, typesetting, and preparation of publication files.

The production team may contact authors to clarify references, figures, author details, or other elements necessary for accurate publication.

Production outcome: Preparation of the article for final author proofing.

Stage 10. Author Proofing and Final Verification

Authors may receive publication proofs for final verification of names, affiliations, figures, tables, references, and text formatting.

Proof corrections should ordinarily address typographical, formatting, or production errors rather than introduce major new research findings.

Author action: Review the proofs carefully and return requested corrections within the communicated timeframe.

Stage 11. Online Publication

Following final verification, the article is prepared for publication on the journal website.

Published articles may include bibliographic metadata, author affiliations, abstracts, keywords, article files, licensing information, and a DOI where assigned.

Publication outcome: The article becomes available through the journal's online publication platform.

Stage 12. Post-Publication Updates

The journal may receive post-publication correspondence concerning errors, clarifications, research integrity, or other scholarly matters.

Where justified, the editorial office may consider a correction, expression of concern, or retraction in accordance with the journal's published policies.

Objective: Maintain the accuracy, transparency, and reliability of the scholarly record.

Tracking Your Manuscript

Authors can use their OJS account to access submission information, view available editorial updates, upload requested revisions, and communicate through the journal's manuscript management system.

Editorial processing times depend on manuscript complexity, reviewer availability, revision requirements, and production needs. The journal does not guarantee a fixed acceptance or publication date.
