ClinMed Nexus: Journal of Multidisciplinary Sciences
Supporting author rights, responsible reuse, and open access to scholarly knowledge.
1. Copyright and Open Access Policy
ClinMed Nexus: Journal of Multidisciplinary Sciences supports open-access scholarly publishing and the responsible dissemination of scientific knowledge. The journal's copyright and licensing framework is intended to protect author rights while enabling readers, researchers, educators, and institutions to access and reuse published research.
The journal's proposed standard publication license is the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). This license enables broad reuse of published articles subject to appropriate attribution and other license conditions.
2. Copyright Ownership
Under the proposed copyright policy, authors retain copyright in their original scholarly contributions, subject to any applicable institutional, employment, funding, or third-party rights.
Authors grant the journal the non-exclusive right to publish, reproduce, distribute, display, and identify the article as originally published in ClinMed Nexus: Journal of Multidisciplinary Sciences.
Copyright ownership and publication rights should be recorded through the journal's author agreement or submission declarations. Authors must ensure they have the necessary authority to grant these rights.
3. Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0)
The CC BY 4.0 license permits others to share and adapt licensed material for any purpose, including commercial purposes, provided the conditions of the license are followed.
- Share: Copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
- Adapt: Remix, transform, translate, and build upon the material.
- Commercial Use: Reuse the material for commercial or non-commercial purposes.
- Attribution: Give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made.
- No Additional Restrictions: Do not apply legal terms or technological measures that unlawfully restrict uses permitted by the license.
Users must not imply that the original authors or publisher endorse a particular reuse or adaptation.
4. Attribution Requirements
When reusing an article published under CC BY 4.0, users must provide attribution appropriate to the medium and context.
A suitable attribution should generally include:
- Names of the original authors.
- Title of the published article.
- Journal name and relevant publication details.
- Article DOI or permanent URL, where available.
- A link to the CC BY 4.0 license.
- An indication of any changes made to the original material.
Example Attribution
Author(s). "Article Title." ClinMed Nexus: Journal of Multidisciplinary Sciences, Year, Volume, Article Number or Pages. DOI or Article URL. Licensed under CC BY 4.0. Changes indicated where applicable.
5. Rights Retained by Authors
Subject to their applicable publication agreement and any third-party rights, authors whose articles are published under CC BY 4.0 may:
- Share their published articles through personal or institutional websites.
- Deposit published versions in institutional or subject repositories.
- Use their articles in teaching, presentations, and academic courses.
- Include published material in theses, dissertations, or scholarly compilations.
- Translate, adapt, or build upon their own published work.
- Distribute copies to collaborators, colleagues, and students.
Appropriate citation of the original publication is encouraged whenever the article is redistributed or reused.
6. Rights of Readers and Other Users
Readers may access articles made available under the journal's open-access model without subscription barriers.
For articles licensed under CC BY 4.0, readers and other users may download, reproduce, distribute, translate, and adapt the material in accordance with the license terms.
Reusers remain responsible for complying with applicable laws, privacy protections, ethical obligations, and any separately identified third-party rights.
7. Third-Party Copyrighted Material
Authors are responsible for identifying third-party content included in their manuscripts, such as previously published figures, photographs, illustrations, tables, maps, and substantial excerpts.
Where reuse is not otherwise permitted by law or an applicable license, authors must obtain permission from the relevant rights holder.
- Clearly acknowledge the original source.
- Obtain and retain required permissions.
- Identify material that is excluded from the article's CC BY 4.0 license.
- Ensure that image or data reuse does not violate confidentiality or privacy rights.
- Provide permission documentation if requested during editorial assessment.
Third-party material is not automatically covered by an article's CC BY license when a credit line or other notice specifies different rights.
8. Repository Deposit and Self-Archiving
The journal's proposed self-archiving policy allows authors to share and deposit the published version of their articles in institutional repositories, subject repositories, and personal academic websites when permitted by the applicable publication license.
Authors should include a complete citation and a link to the version of record on the journal website.
9. Preprints and Prior Dissemination
Authors should disclose any previous public dissemination of their work, including preprints, conference abstracts, working papers, or repository deposits.
A preprint is not necessarily equivalent to formal journal publication. The editorial office should assess disclosed prior dissemination in accordance with the journal's originality and submission policies.
Authors should not misrepresent previously published work as an entirely new contribution.
10. Copyright and License Statements

11. Copyright Concerns and Infringement
Authors and readers may report suspected copyright infringement, unauthorized reproduction, inaccurate attribution, or misuse of published material to the editorial office.
